22/07/2023 Kingfisher The Magnificent Seven

It was a perfect week for the seven who joined us from Surrey last week with a bit of sun for the girls to enjoy and some cooler days for the four lads on the lake. This was their first trip to France although they all fish on the same syndicate back home in the UK.

Despite arriving on the lake at nearly 9pm, Luke, Tom, Jake and Dan had a quick tour of the lake with Nigel and drew their pegs. They managed to get themselves set up quickly and the fish started arriving on the very first evening. By the Sunday evening all bar one of the anglers had caught something and you could sense the competition heating up.

Fishing with our spicy fish boilies, they started off using solid bags in the middle of the lake but as the week progressed moved towards the trees using a bait boat. The spicy fish, as usual, attracted a few catfish but by using some yellow corn along with some house party blend, pellets and maize the carp did keep on coming.

Tom was on the dam wall on his own but ended up with 8 carp in total, including the biggest of the week at 44lb 10oz. Dan was on the swim nearest the chalet and had 5 carp and 4 catfish over the week. Then came Luke in the middle with 3 carp and 1 catfish and finally Jake who decided to change swims halfway through the week and got several of his from the shallower end of the lake with a total of 6 carp and 7 cats.

The three girls made the most of the facilities and enjoyed some time out at the beach in Vidiex as well as the market at Piegut Pluviers on the Wednesday and all of them appeared to have a good time.

The final catch report reads 4 at 40lb+, 12 at 30lb+, 5 at 20lb+ and 2 at 20lb+ along with 12 catfish, the biggest being 48lb

Hope to see you all back here again one day!
